Shivapuri, located north of Kathmandu at an elevation of 2563 meters, is the second highest hill in the Kathmandu valley after Phulchowki. It is a heaven for those who enjoy exploring the nature and sightseeing varieties of birds, as it is home to hundreds of species of flora and fauna. 
Hike begins near the area’s southern boundary, where the army checkpoint is located. Within two hours, the hike leads to Nangi Gompa, where a monastery is located, over a rocky yet drivable road through pine and cherry woodland. The trail continues steeply uphill for another three hours beyond the monastery, through the oak and rhododendron forest. Likewise, the snow-capped Himalayan such as Ganesh Himal, Langtang-Lirung, Dorji Lhakpa, Mt. Langtang Ri, Ganjala Peak, and many others, as well as Mt.
